Since Porsche demands to raise all four paws off the ground for tire change I see no use for this toolbox.

what do you do to raise all wheels for tire change on the road?

Yes, you need the wheel (I go at it a side at a time) completely off the ground...and yes you need to torque it in the air (which practically requires 2 people), but there is no need to have the car on 4 jack stands or use a lift only.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

You do understand I'm a conservative Middle Eastern, don't you?!!! Because of flirting eyes like yours, I'm not taking her out for a drive till she puts on her bra :taunt:
Very nice car love the exterior and interior color combo choice. Forgive me if I am wrong but I thought I read that you opted out of your order on the 991 turbo or am i missing something. Enjoy and be safe!
You're right, I opted out of buying it few weeks back after it got already out of manufacturing.
The good news is that, blessed I was, I managed to secure my son's education and still afford the car. I ended up choosing between a red 2012 458 Spyder with 13,000 km on the clock and the 991 turbo I ordered. Both were exactly at the same price.
Despite being in love with Ferrari, I had to play it safe in fear of reliability and maintenance cost... Yesterday morning I emailed the dealer and he confirmed back by midnight. Now it's just paper work, local shipping from Riyadh to Jeddah, bra installation then 2,000 km break in period before I take off
Great looking car, Hassaan. Please post when you have any inkling of mods so we can pound some sense into you...or at least wait a week before doing anything.
My dear Turbo Master, I vow to modify nothing, add nothing but the bra and ClearPlex windshield protection.
The only mod I'd do is to myself to lose few pounds to break the 3.0 seconds barrier in acceleration
Congrats man! I was about to say you were getting a little suspicious with having a Turbo S on order and a
GT3
on order and canceling both / missing allocation....this was worth the wait!

God bless you (and the gentlemen above)...
How I wish I stayed in Riyadh or got relocated to the Eastern Province to enjoy Bahrain circuit and Bahrain Porsche club. You're lucky to be there. I'm in Jeddah now which limits my attendance to once a year to the circuit when all Jeddah club ship their cars to track them there.
Thanks to you and to all who commented above.
Sweet ride, Hassaan. Congrats.
I suggest you might want to consider getting a set of these. If you have a blowout or other tire problem a few hundred km from a dealer that the canned air can't fix, there's a decent chance you could source replacement rubber. But if you can't get the wheel off, you'd have to flatbed the car back to the mother ship (dealer) as only a
Porsche
service center (or MAYBE another Turbo/
GT3
/
GTS
owner) will have centerlock removal tools.
The tools fit easily in the frunk of a 911 (the torque wrench breaks into 3 pieces and fits in its slick, hard-sided case; the Porsche collabsible breaker bar folds down to a size smaller than the case) with lots of room to spare for soft-sided luggae. I take the tools with me anytime I venture more than 75km from home.
Thank you... and thanks for the recommendation. I hope you never get to use it. I think I may still have it in my Amazon basket though from a previous recommendation. But
what do you do to raise all wheels for tire change on the road?
Since Porsche demands to raise all four paws off the ground for tire change I see no use for this toolbox.
The CL is my nightmare. Therefore I'll have my chauffeur drive behind me wherever I go (just kidding). Probably I'll save Porsche Road Assist on my favorites list and pray I'll never get to call them.
Actually, according to my dealer the photo in the owners manual with all 4 wheels off the ground is misleading. The text in "Supplement to the Owners manual 'Wheels with Central Locking'" says (on page 3): "raise the vehicle until the
wheel
lifts off the ground" then continues to provide detailed instructions for removing and replacing a single wheel. No mention at all of getting all 4 wheels in the air...and this is the
official
lawyered-up document distributed by Porsche AFTER the issues and the recall. Yes, you need the wheel (I go at it a side at a time) completely off the ground...and yes you need to torque it in the air (which practically requires 2 people), but there is no need to have the car on 4 jack stands or use a lift only. Once the wheel is positioned properly on the hub it's going to spin down and seat properly regardless of whether there is a couple of degrees of inclination: as long as its not cross-threaded, the wheel will be properly mounted once it's torqued to spec. Then you need to be SURE the lock pops out. All the angst over CLs comes from a couple of track incidents prior to the recall and re-issuance of instructions for maintenance and replacement on tracked cars. Any problems since then can be attributed to improper removal and installation, or improper maintenance/lubrication of the components.
If the tire isn’t shredded to pieces, you can also get a tire sealer can or a plug kit just to get home. Then just take the wheel in since not every shop is going to have these tires in inventory or have the CL tools. You have probably seen the procedure, but this is what you are in for.

thats a nice car Hassaan!
was wondering if you were going to go the Fe route with your previous posts and I'm sure you'll find joy in driving this monster!
btw is that a sunroof button on the console?
I guess there's no harm in having the kit in hand especially since I have ordered the spare tire too. I hope I never get a flat tire at all that requires removing it out of town.
Thank you for your feedback.
That's another video about the same nightmare of CL.
Glass roof was a must for me. I love the way it looks. I was told it doesn't get hot in the summer. No? What sunshade you're referring to, Chows?
I thought I'd buy a Ferrari for sure. I was waiting for the right 458 Spyder in yellow. The problem is that when paying that chunk of money for a Ferrari, it'd be a financial suicide to keep paying for its unreliability. If the 458 was cheaper, I'd have no problem. But paying much now and keep paying much down the road, that I couldn't afford. I had to play it safe. I figured Ferrari is like the super model one fancies all his life, but although she said yes, you move away for she's high maintenance. She's good for a one night stand, but unfortunately you can't take her home with you
UPDATE:
I decided not to walk the aisle without my son.
Accordingly I decided not to receive the car until I obtain a visa for my son to fly him over here to Saudi Arabia over a weekend. I promised him this morning that he'll receive the keys and start the car at the showroom. He got so excited and I got excited for him.
It's a chance to get him involved in such an event and get him into cars too. This may delay receiving the car till mid May but I have no problem with that. I'd rather share this moment with my teen chipmunk.
Salaam Hassan! Congratulations on your sweet new ride. I just drove mine yesterday for the first time since January. You're going to love it!!
