I've got a missfire on cylinder 2 according to my fault reader , I've change all the coils thinking it was that but it's still sounding rough but only when it warms up, the engine light is flashing and exhaust had a split in which I used gun gum until I can afford a new one (sounds a bit blowing) so not sure if an exhaust issue.

When fixing exhaust leaks like this its best to apply the paste into the crack / split then use a heat gun or a paint stripper gun to heat up the paste ..

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

The other thing i am yet to try is to clean the MAF. Any ideas on what else it could be??? Thanks

POST 2Original post

When fixing exhaust leaks like this its best to apply the paste into the crack / split then use a heat gun or a paint stripper gun to heat up the paste .. don't burn it just gently waft the gun over it to cure the paste . This will cure it enough so that when you start the car it doesn't just blow it out of the repair area . An exhaust leak close to a lambda sensor will cause issues but not a single cylinder misfire . As such you have no.2 messing around , i would change the coil on that cyl AND the spark plug .. This will then rule out spark problems for the components but you may still have a wiring fault .. if a broken wire then lets face it it wont generate a spark . After spark faults you tend to move to the injector , we swop them to a different bank or cyl then test , you can just replace but we are kinda throwing parts at the car if we do . You then are left with compression .. burnt valve perhaps or a massive air leak on tha cyl .. inlet gasket split perhaps . For me .. i would replace the spark plug in no. 2 cyl and see how you get on .
