Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

Pagid's don't like being run too low anyway so it's good practise not to rely on the sensors and visually inspect regularly.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi folks. Do you folks drill a small hole in the pad for the wear indicator or just leave it off completely?

POST 2Original post

Cut the plug off old sensors, strip & solder the bare wires & put heatshrink over them. Insert plug. If you don't do that, you will have a permanent warning lamp on the dash.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok cheers, was thinking small hole as well. With regard to cutting and soldering, would it not be ok to leave the sensors connected still and just cable tie them up out of the way? As I understand it if they are connected but not earthing on the disc (worn pad) the light won't come on?

POST 5Original post

You could do it like that I suppose. I just like it neat & out of the way. I don't have wear sensors on any of my cars & always disable them like this. Pagid's don't like being run too low anyway so it's good practise not to rely on the sensors and visually inspect regularly.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Totally get your point mate and agree with neat. I was more wondering from a technical/light on thing. Thanks for your input mate might well just solder them up!!
