Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Are air con pipes repairable or is it a matter of replacement? Mine has a pin hole in one end (from the passenger side condenser. This section is quite large so i'm expecting a high price for new. Just trying to consider all options prior to replacement from Porsche

POST 2Original post

Not sure they can be repaired - and depending on which pipe it can get quite unpleasant. Looking at my bill for doing three pipes recently, they ranged from about £150 up to £360 and one of them necessitated an engine drop to change over

POST 3Original post

I had the long one running down the length of the car repaired for the same reason. My guy cut the pipe where the hole was and fit a plumbing compression fitting to join it up again. Was a cheap fix but unfortunately the pipe perforated further up a month or so later so I ended up just buying a new pipe off Porsche for £120. Something like this:

POST 4Original post

Someone had jacked the car up on my AC pipe and split when I first had the car (not myself I will add) and I priced up a new pipe and used one, the used one was around £20 so that was the way I went, I fitted that around 10 years ago and its been fine since.

POST 7Original post

I was told it was a nightmare but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised how straightforward it was. Biggest pain for me was getting the carbon canister reseated in the bungs properly. Btw OP - you could probably have it brazed but it honestly wouldn't last 5 minutes. Replacement is the only cure imo...
