Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used some overhead plastic and double sided tape to make an alignment template.

I just use 3mm wide 3m double sided tape, but it sounds like you're getting ok anyway.

I measured multiple times, using masking tape to mark the center line of the deck lid.

Another tip (picked up from one of the car modding shows on discovery / quest) is to use a sewing fabric tape measure near bodywork - its soft so unlikely to scratch and bends to the contours of the body.
Use some kind of allignment guide, as i would like

I'll also use some kind of allignment guide, as I would like to get it right the first time

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I followed your "tape guide" and it worked like a charm.
When I got my aero deck lid, it came with a black "911" badge. The badge was removed when I had the deck lid resprayed, but I'm considering to reattach it. What kind of adhesive would be best suited to do so? Each digit is "semi hollow" on the back side.
Edit:
When bought new, do these badges come with some kind of template to make sure the numbers or letters are placed with the correct distance to one another?
You want the green backed trim tape - lots on ebay.
I did a write up a while ago how to cut out the tape by sticking to grease proof paper, tracing around the badge, sharpie pen the outline (to reduce the size slightly then cut out with craft knife. I did my Carrera badge so the 911 should be easy
Positioning it is a challenge! Masking tape is your friend!

Thinking about the '911' - I'd create a masking tape base line, mark the centre and stick the middle 1 first. Then place a vertical bit of masking tape to help place the 9 and the other 1. Some people can just plonk them on by eye whereas I need to have guides! I always have to use a spirit level when refitting wall light switches!
Good luck - if it goes on slightly wrong no big deal to floss it off and re-do. You'll be fine :thumb:
Thanks again, I'll probably give it a go tonight. I'll also use some kind of allignment guide, as I would like to get it right the first time
But as you said, if I miss it will not mean the end of the world.
I followed your "tape guide" and it worked like a charm. I am no stranger to model kits, so my trusty X-acto knife and cutting mat served me well
Will try and fit the badge tomorrow!
Sounds like a great idea as well.
I finally had time to put the badge on the car and got it right at the first attempt
I measured multiple times, using masking tape to mark the center line of the deck lid. I used some overhead plastic and double sided tape to make an alignment template. The template also held all three pieces of the badge in place when attaching them to the lid. It worked perfectly.
