Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I liked the look and function of these, especially having replaced the A/C rads.
Leading evidence: 'Replace a/c rads' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace a/c rads' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

With my old 996.2, I ran a set of Zunsport grills on the front apertures.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I left mine a few mm off the central spar and then fixed it with very small pull ties through the mesh and around the central spar.

Is something similar available for a 996.1 with factory aero kit? Zunsport offer a GT3 bumper kit but the apertures are different shapes/sizes to the aero kit setup, so not suitable.
Any advice much appreciated, before I consider something DIY!!
I enquired a few years ago and I'm sure at the time Zunsport weren't available for 996.1 aero.
It's easy to DIY with generic mesh and IMHO looks a lot better.
I initially bought Rennline mesh but it was expensive steel mesh and it didn't really fit. It was screwed in place from the inside. I returned it.
I then bought some black aluminium mesh on Ebay, so much easier to cut and bend, and fitted it with stainless self tapping screws.
Easy and unobtrusive, the only challenge it fitting the air temp sensor, I cut a suitable hole in the mesh and attached a piece of string to the sensor so I could pull it through the fitted bumper.
If you go the DIY route you'll do well to follow these guidelines.

I DIY'd mine around 9 years ago and they are still holding up fine, I bought the sheet from Halfords and there was just enough to do all thee radiator inlets.
I just folded the mesh over and bonded it in place with silicone sealer in various places as this will not damage the bumper or any paint if you need to remove the mesh in the future.
Exactly what I have just done but I bought my mesh from Halfords.
Self drilling screws from the back of the PU and a bit of mastic and it looks the dogs
I had enough mesh left over to do it again if it gets damaged.
I screwed into the rear of the bumper, sorry, I don't have any photos but it was fairly obvious where the screws could go, mind I had seen the instructions from the Rennline parts.
You need something small enough to keep out pebbles, leaves etc. You'll never keep out smaller stuff and dust. Ideally you want as little mesh and as much airflow as possible.
I think the design (pattern?) is your choice and down to personal preference although I find with a black mesh set on the inside of the bumper, you scarcely notice it.
There are lots of creative ways of fitting it as you can see. I wanted something reversible that would enable removal and refitting from the front.
I did mine from the front but it would be a lot easier with the bumper off. The aluminium mesh is great because once cut to shape (slightly oversize) you can contour it by hand to fit snug all around the edges. I left mine a few mm off the central spar and then fixed it with very small pull ties through the mesh and around the central spar. The pull ties pulled the mesh against the central spar, the edges being oversized and the 'spring" of the mesh held it in place. You can do all this from the front by 'posting" the mesh through the aperture then turning it to get in in position behind the spar.
Hi - small hi-jack, having looked at the Zunsport version, it recommended cutting out the plastic inserts in my C4S bumper - not something I was keen on?
What's the concensus of opinion on air-flow through the inserts + mesh - ie do you think the flow will be compromised by having both?
