Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

there is the wire you have checked on pin 2 which is listed as backup ..
Leading evidence: 'Check on pin 2' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check above' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I will try to find a term 15 wire at the fuse board on the diagram but for now you can check my above

Or if any of the above fuses are not used then with a voltmeter confirm the fuse socket is term 15 then run a fused wire from that .

You can either find one from the fuse board and run it or you can use a bridge from term 30 ..

SAT NAV is way out of date and I dont use the phone functionality.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi folks!
After MANY weeks of waiting, my continental radio has finally showed up. Car is ready, AC controls moved, gt3 console mod done.. now onto the wiring.
I used to have a PCM2 unit, with telephone and navigation, but no amp (straight to speakers, I believe), I want to confirm if I understand this correctly. Here's the ISO plugs I have:
Black: where is the switched and constant power on this plug? POrsche diagrams say 4 and 7, but in my plug there is no live wire in 7!
Brown (speakers - I assume all good as they all worked before)
And finally the 3 fakra connectors... I assume:
Blue - FM
Yellow - GPS ?
Black - GSM ?
Can someone confirm ?
And finally the new radio connectors (Of course it doesn't work at the moment - i assume the power connections are wrong, with switched / constant live connections being in different places)
Presumably I need a Fakra -> ISO adapter for the FM aerial (Halfords, about £4)
The new radio came with a DAB antenna - I wonder if I can get one of the existing aerials to work? (black/yellow)?
Any hints welcome!!
Most people myself included don't like saying this pin has to go into this socket for it to work .. basically if we are wrong then its goodbye radio ..
From what i can see on a 2003 PCM 2 there is no term 15 ( ignition ) .. there is the wire you have checked on pin 2 which is listed as backup .. it goes to a connection point and a bridge plug and it seems to be to do with the lights .
Its a Can signal to wake the unit up and not an ignition feed .
Pin 8 is the earth with pin 4 being the term 30 or permanent feed .
You can either .. and you need to check this as im not going to be responsible but ...
Your new radio .. pin 8 is earth ..
Pin 7 is battery permanent or term 30
Pin 4 is ignition which you don't have ..
You can either find one from the fuse board and run it or you can use a bridge from term 30 .. if you do this the radio will need to be switched off as it will always be on if you don't regardless of the ignition .
I will try to find a term 15 wire at the fuse board on the diagram but for now you can check my above
EDIT ..
There is a term 15 at the fuse board and it seems to feed fuses B5-10 and E7-8 .. a black wire and gauge 2.5 .
Unfortunately there are several .. well a lot of black wires with a lower gauge which are outputs .
You need to pull the fuse board out and look at the back for a large gauge wire ( 2.5 ) which goes to the above fuses .
Or if any of the above fuses are not used then with a voltmeter confirm the fuse socket is term 15 then run a fused wire from that .
That's the best i can come up with for a term 15 feed i'm afraid .
So sin,ce yesterday I ordered a universal ISO block and a fakra adapter from Halfords.
I connected pin 4 to pin 7 (permanent live) and pin 2 to pin 4 (switched live???).
It all seems to work and no smoke came out. The radio turns on with ignition and turns off when key gets out. It seems to be fine.
i had to buy several parts from OPC, most importantly a plastic frame whcih is designed for ttwo single din units (AC on top and radio on bottom) - i can dig out part no if needed. I've done a GT3 console delete mod.
Part numbers would be fab. Mines a 2003 car with PCM2, CD changer and amp (&most). I'm looking to 'simplify' the stereo arrangements. SAT NAV is way out of date and I dont use the phone functionality.
Regards
ian
