Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have a damaged aircon pipe - pressure tested ok and still pumping cold, but it needs replacing.
Leading evidence: 'Test ok and still pumping cold' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test ok and still pumping cold' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I noticed today while the car was on the ramp that I have a metal coolant pipe that's got a large dent in it, will still flow plenty but wonder if this could cause any damage long term. This pipe bolts to the engine in 3 places and runs up the back of the thermostat into the area of the tunnel then changes to rubber
I think the part number could be 996 106 663 02.
Potentially needs changing at some point. These pipes are prone to damage around sump area. The damaged area could also leak if hairline fracture occurs. I have a damaged aircon pipe - pressure tested ok and still pumping cold, but it needs replacing.
I've added a couple pictures of the damage. Would anyone happen to know the correct part number. I'm not sure what I have above is correct and I'm thinking I should replace this pipe.
It looks like one of the below, depending on your car?
Water Tube, For, 996.106.250.54, Return Line < 1998 MY
99610624352 Water Tube, Return Line, For, 1999 MY >
99610624354 Water Tube, Return Line 2002 MY > | valid for 6-speed manual transmission (M480)
99610684301 Cooling Water Tube, Return Line 2002 MY > | valid for Tiptronic transmission (M249)
I think the part number you put is for the Boxster?
It looks like a jack has damaged the pipe?
If you can pinch off the rubber pipes at both ends of this metal pipe you will hardly loose any coolant when you change it and it won't take much to bleed the coolant system afterwards.
Cheers infra, it's a 99 C4. Dent looks fresh so I must have done it but not aware of it.
It's not leaking and had I not seen it I would have been blissfully unaware.
It'll probably be fine for quite a while but it will restrict the flow of coolant away from the engine?
It's always good to have your car details in your signature to help diagnose problems.
Yeah that's the one, runs up passenger side of engine near thermostat housing and connects into the rubber pipe that's connected to the header tank.
I've had a look for a used one but can't find anything. I've actually managed to reshape it a bit better now but not sure if this will have badly weakened the pipe for potential splits/leaks in the future.
