Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Howdy all, After being off for a few years in a boring benz, I decided it was time to come back home. I was originally looking to go back to the 993, but last weekend, I found this car, and made the "mistake" of taking it for a test drive. It's an '03 Slate Grey/Black C2. 35K miles. Very nicely optioned (sticker was 93k.. has 9k of carbon fiber alone, and while I'm not that into bling, it's pretty nice). Also has the M030 suspension, and an option to lower the seats by 10mm (never seen that before, but being a little taller, it's nice), and Bose Sound System. It already has the clear side markers too, and a wired in radar detector (not V1 tho..) Weird thing is that it didn't come with PSM, but the lowered seats and the M030 suggest maybe a guy that needed clearance for his helmet. It was a Dallas car, just in case any Rennlister recognizes it. It was very well taken care of, and since it didn't enter service until October '03, it still has a good 10 months of warranty left. So, I'm happy to be down here in 996 land. I'm sure I'll have some questions after I spend a couple of days playing with the new toy.

POST 3Original post

Welcome back, Bobby Congrats on a nice ride. What part of Austin do you live in? I am near Round Rock with an '03 4S. My sticker was $90k, so you must have a very highly optioned C2. Did the car come from Beasley? Let me know if you aren't familiar with Lime Creek Road near Lake Travis. It is a must drive for a pcar. It runs from Volente Beach to 1431. Enjoy!

POST 4Original post

Welcome back! Very sweet ride. 93K for a C2 Coupe? What the hell did the guy add to it? 24K plating

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It gets up there pretty quick in cost. The car has $8600 in carbon fiber, which is confusing, because there is a charge for rear center console in carbon fiber for 1600, but there is no rear center console?? On top of that, metallic paint, leather interior, 18" rims, sound system, power seats and xenon headlamps get you pretty far into the 24k in options.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just moved here from Boston, so I need all the help I can get. Right now I live in North Austin, but I'm moving to southwest Austin in a couple of months. The car originally came from Boardwalk Porsche in Dallas, but I found it through a local broker. I'm looking for any recommendations for service, since I'll need to do some non-warranty items pretty soon (brakes, etc.). Thanks!

POST 10Original post

The rear console is the one between the shifter and E-brake. Carbon fiber is so choice - congrats.

POST 11Original post

Hmmm, I must be missing something, because it sounds very very expensive to me. I have an '02 Silver/Black C2, 24k miles, no carbon fiber, no M030 suspension or 10mm dropping seats, but I do have PSM,Bose, clear side markers and Porsche Sport Bucket Seats, and I paid $49k. How does 1 year younger (albeit 11k more miles), and a (very) few extras come even remotely close to another 50k?

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

By sticker, I meant original sticker price was 93k. I paid 47k for the car. Someone else ate the 50k depreciation.

POST 13Original post

Congrats, nice ride! That's not Seal Grey, is it? Mine's Seal Grey and it's very much lighter.

POST 15Original post

Slate is beautiful on a C2! Enjoy, congrats, and welcome!!

POST 16Original post

Is it just me or does slate and seal look ALOT alike?

POST 17Original post

Nice! You got a good deal. I paid $44K June for my '02 Targa with 30K miles that stickered for $89 new, and I had no warranty yet. Enjoy!

POST 18Original post

I just paid $46K for a perfect '02 Coupe with 26K miles. PSM, PSE, Bose, Litronic, Full leather, 18"s the Sticker was $84. Got to love a soft market!
