Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Purchased 6-30-14. First Porsche. Daily driver. 50k miles. Beautiful, fast and handles like a go-kart! Unfortunately, I have many questions: #1: Water pump just failed. Metal or plastic impeller on replacement pump? #2: Do these cars usually require clutch change around 35-40k miles as I have read? #3: Is there any way to tell if it is the original engine? I.E. numbers matching as an American car. Will $100 Porsche Cert. of Auth. show that? #4: Any cure for cracked water expansion tank other than replacing with a new tank that will crack? #5: Is there any where to get basic wiring diagrams without buying entire service manuals? Thanks. I'm sure I will numerous other questions!

POST 2Original post

1. OEM composite impeller pump only . 2. No. 3. Read the engine number, if it has an "AT" in it, it is a factory reman. If not, you need to decode the engine number to see if it matches up with the car. 4. No. 5. Not really, either the OEM manuals if you can find them, or the Bentley.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the info. These cars are soooo different from previous sports types I have owned i.e.: 1964 Triumph TR4a, 1965 Sunbeam Tiger and 1993 Nissan 300ZX. I like it so far but have some much to learn. Probably will buy the Bentley to learn. Still uncomfortable with all the whizzing of fans and engine noises from the "back seat" area!
