This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Occassionally the convertible roof on my Carrera 4 decides to go down of its own accord. Just happened an hour ago when I took the key out of the ignition. Has happened at the most awkward moments before. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong here? Porsche mechanic gave it a once-over at its last service (July) and found nothing amiss electrically. All rather bizarre.

POST 2Original post

Make sure your misses/kids haven't got the spare key and are operating the roof remotely with it !!!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Convertible lol! The thought had crossed my mind. Unfortuntely that variable has been eliminated, in lieu of the family being so! My suspicions remain firmly with the black art of electricity... :?

POST 4Original post

My 996tt (Not convertible) had an issue with the windows randomly opening. This was easily rectified by replacing the microsensors in the locking mechanism. I wonder if it could be the same thing in your case.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Electrics Hi Dave Yeah, I think you might be onto something here. Occassionally when I take the key out of the ignition, the roof will start to retract, windows go down, etc. It was slightly playing up the other day when the door lock light was going on and off whilst i was driving causing the compartment light to go on and off simultaneously with it. When I eventually reached my destination, yeah, you guessed it, the roof retracted once the key was removed. It's definitely electrics / locks related. Hopefully get it resolved... Cheers
