Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Has anyone here heard anything more about the mainframe being under transition? This was mentioned yesterday. Are any of your dealers able to check on build dates etc.? Thanks Russ

POST 3Original post

Patch, I still have no word from my dealer. I will call in the morning and try to find out what the heck is going on with my so called Nov. 30th completion date. I will let you know tomorrow what I find out. Russ

POST 4Original post

Russk, I was at my dealership last night and they had no problems pulling up my order, checking dates, etc. I would say the mainframe is up and they are pulling your leg or just uninformed.

POST 5Original post

Edcs, the dealer network, was supoosed to be down from Dec 1-4...but I used it several times yesterday and it seemed to be working as usual.

POST 6Original post

Thanks Woodhouse for the clarification. I posted that my dealer had informed me on Nov. 30 that the dealer network, (he refered to it as a certain mainframe) would be down until Dec. 5. He read a memo from Porsche. At least you have confirmed that my dealer was not making it up. The fact that it continued to function is good news. I will be contacting my dealer today to see if they have access.

POST 7Original post

knms, I will do the same thing this morning as soon as they open. Russ

POST 8Original post

Russ I called my sales rep and today turns out to be his day off. I spoke to another rep and he told me the Edcs(dealer network) was down. He then told me after looking at my order that my car is scheduled for completion on Dec. 12. This is after my rep had told me for weeks that the system showed my car as scheduled for completion Nov.30 with a vin # available on that date. Needless to say, my frustation level has risen considerably. I am unable to raise my rep today on his cell phone, and I have been waiting for the Sales Manager to call me for over an hour. Nothing worst than a state of limbo./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/sad_smile.gif

POST 9Original post

kmns, Don't sweat it, supposedly that is the same day my car is going to be built now, so our cars can move down the assembly line together, actually that is the COMPLETION date, which means are cars are probably starting to flow in the next couple of days and will be completed on or before the 12th. Which would put them at your dealership before the Jan 14th launch as the time from end of completion to arrival at your dealership is typically 3 weeks, add in an extra week for the holidays and the cars 'should' arrive by mid January for launch.

POST 10Original post

kmns, Well I could be in the same situation as my build complete date was Nov 30th and no word. I will have to wait a couple of hours before they open! I am not good at waiting. Russ

POST 11Original post

K-man S Thanks for raising my comfort level. another example of the benefit of this site and of your interest in particular. I placed my order in late August, before leaving for Frankfurt. I thought Nov. 30 was a bit late, but when I heard Dec. 12 today, the thought of possibly not getting the car by Jan. 14 started to creep in. Thanks again for your post. Lets hope all goes well.

POST 12Original post

I think we all are getting a bit cranky with the anticipation of our new toys and the absence of good information about their arrival date. But as Woodhouse so clearly has said January 15 has always been the offical date (even though some of us didn't know that when we ordered) so lets try to relax. Porsche could do themselves a favor if they provided a web site that allowed owners to track the progress of their cars.

POST 13Original post

SF, Yes if Porsche only had a suggestion box I would have added a note to allow owners to track their vehicles themselves and take the burden off the dealer. My dealer did say once it is on a vessel then I can track the vessel myself, but hardly as good as a factory track. Russ

POST 14Original post

I was at my dealer today. He reported that the site will be down until Tuesdau, Dec 6th.

POST 15Original post

Uber, This is getting worse, first it was the 4th, then 5th and now 6th? Well my dealer opens in a short while and I will let you know what he tells me. Thanks for sharing the info. Russ

POST 16Original post

Uber, My dealer just went on the Porsche site and gave me my completion date which was yesterday and a partial VIN, so it appears that it is not down for all dealers. Russ
