Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i hav c4 1999 and its got rplica turbo wheels on,with 285 30 18 rears and 225 40 18 fronts was wondering what tyre pressures i should be running

POST 2Original post

I think I used to run 34 front and 40 rear but in the manual it stated 36 front and 44 rear. They're the pressures I preferred and I didn't get any bad tyre wear. That was in my C4S which had the same size rubber. Just make sure that on each axle they are the same and keep an eye on pressures as they are very fidgety if they are out and ruins the handling/braking.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cool will do,and yes your right it is a bit fidgety at speed

POST 5Original post

Running 32 fronts and 40 rears. I used to run at OEM but the ride was rock hard. ~ Maxie

POST 6Original post

Hi - we find 32 f 36 r is worth trying for normal use within UK speed limits with a normal weight driver, no luggage, etc. Faster more aggressive use with 2 people in the car, fully laden etc would require higher pressures but the danger of running them too high is premature wearing of the centre of the tyres.

POST 7Original post

On my C2 I found that the car felt much more 'nervous' at the front end with lower tyre pressures at the front. It kicked off white lines and was much more susceptible to 'tramlining'. Went back to factory recommendations, and everything was back to normal. I used to get perfectly even wear front and rear too.

POST 8Original post

I used to run 4psi under for a softer ride but found the tyres were wearing unevenly so went back to OEM, no wear problems since TB
