Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hi all, So, I managed to brake my Frunk & Boot switch. I removed it today with the view of repairing it, but it won’t be possible. A new one has been ordered, but it was hard to find the exact new part. I was looking for 997.613.105.00, but I got 997.613.105.02. It looks the same and has 4 pins, but can you think of any reason why it won’t be compatible?

POST 2Original post

It could just be an updated or superceded part number. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

yes, the last 2 digits are the revision number. My Cayman 's frunk switch had also broken like that (I swapped in the switch panel from my Boxster ), the "02" probably has a redesign of the frunk switch to make it stronger

POST 4Original post

You can ignore the revision number in most cases*. The higher the rev, the more recent it is. Sometimes there is an engineering improvement, but often it is just due to availability of components or it is made by a different OEM supplier. * if there are any exceptions or incompatibilities they should be noted in the most recent PET catalog for your model/year.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
