Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The one I drove was a Cat D black 06/07 987.1 that had been in an accident that had smashed the engine from underneath and the previous owner had bought it and changed the engine to a 3.8 X51 unit and put a GT3 front end on it as well.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is what you get when you shove a 991 GTS 3.8 engine into a Boxster: http://youtu.be/9ySIJtbcyvg Definitely a project to watch ...

POST 2Original post

Well when I said GT4 will have 3.8 I was not kidding. And somebody even said "What, a new engine?" It's already there, 991 GTS, isn't it?

POST 3Original post

Yes please!!! I test drove a 987.1 Cayman once with a 3.8 X51 engine, I loved it and still wish to this day that I had bought it.

rudester said: This one? http://www.amarisupercars.com/detail?vid=39656 Any idea what kind of price this sold for ?

POST 6Original post

rudester said: This one? http://www.amarisupercars.com/detail?vid=39656 No it wasn't that one, although that car was also for sale when I was looking but not from that dealer, IIRC it was nearly 40K but this was about 2 years ago. The one I drove was a Cat D black 06/07 987.1 that had been in an accident that had smashed the engine from underneath and the previous owner had bought it and changed the engine to a 3.8 X51 unit and put a GT3 front end on it as well. The car had a few issues (easily solvable) and the dealer was a total arse so I didn't buy it. There is a road test of it by 911 Porsche magazine online somewhere that I found quite a while after I looked at it, they rated it highly. Edited by AnthonyR on Friday 30th January 08:20
