Suspected cause
On cars with xenons the tank is 6l vs 2.5 without on the 997 so probably the same on the Box as they are pretty much the same car
Leading evidence: 'same' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'same' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Fill theirs up and how many litres' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Just put in there, I don't think the washer system is a highly strung piece of technology that requires exact measurements to run correctly...

I should of said I filled up with plain water and just run the washers until empty (to flush out)

wow does any one else clean out their washer tank and then use 2 litres of screen wash ?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Had a read of my manual and it mentions it's 6 litre capacity.
Got my message to say it was low so got some winter screen wash to dilute to 1 to 3. Emptied the current tank and cleaned it out with just water (just in case different mixure issues) and then put in approx 2-2.5 litres of screen wash. I then started pouring water in and it was full by the time I put in 0.5 ltr which would suggest the tank is only hold 3 litres of water? So basically my tank is vitually 100% neat with undiluted winter screen wash (I guess it shouldn't freeze then)
Anyone else filled theirs up and how many litres to fill up approx?
PS Mine does not have the PDLS head light wash system (perhaps the 6 ltre tank is if you have this system?)

Says 2.5 litres in the book.
That would be about right then...
Strange how my manual says 6 litres and it also says 6 litres here -

"Emptied the current tank and cleaned it out with just water (just in case different mixure issues) and then put in approx 2-2.5 litres of screen wash"
No! One splash (two if really cold) of whatever screen wash is to hand (not pre-mixed) and fill up with water. I haven't had any problems since the days of hand pumped windscreen washers, such as on my Anglia, except I've had a few of those pop out headlamp washer units jam in the out position.

I didn't have any Porsche screen wash and the one I purchased from Halfords was dilute ratio of 1:3 for up to -5 degrees C hence reading manual saying 6 litre tank so putting 2 litres screen wash in....
I usually clean out as I'm ussing different screen wash as past experience is that mixing different solutions can cause clogging of washer jets...
Funny thing is that after I put the stuff in I found that I had some OEM Porsche screen wash that I forgot I had when I had my previous Cayman R which was hiddenaway in the garage!
I tend to dilute the stuff in an old jug before pouring into the tank, then I know it's correct however much needs to go in the actual tank itself
Didn't know you could even remove the screen wash tank from the car!

Strictly speaking in that case you wanted 1.5l of screenwash not 2 to make 6l of diluted product. 1 part screen wash to 3 parts of water
Does it really matter?
Just put in there, I don't think the washer system is a highly strung piece of technology that requires exact measurements to run correctly...
Life's too short to worry about screen wash

Maybe I wasn't clear about what I did... I should of said I filled up with plain water and just run the washers until empty (to flush out)
You are right about the dilution ratio... maths not a strong point
The Porsche fluid is allegedly formulated to not damage the convertible top

Oh OK got it! Shame it's a good option.
It needs a different name though to avoid confusion. Something like a Cayman Soft-top or a crazy name like .... Boxer or even better Boxster.

No that won't catch on. How about Softxer?
