Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Also as my car has done 99424 miles and the last three advisory notes from OPC visits said that there is oil staining around the RMS area.I have not been too worried about this as I think the staining has been there for about 50000 miles and if the engine was going to go bang it would have by now. Also I check the oil level on the dashboard everytime I start the car and at the dipstick every week and the car has never used any oil and never left any oil stains on my garage floor.

I have a aftermarket warranty with Warranty Works that cost £1350 for three years on their platenium cover,so I rang them to see if they would pay for the RMS and intermediate shaft seal and to my supprise they would pay for it at £50 per hour labour against my OPC charging £80 per hour.So in the end they paid £408 of the £871 bill that also included the service,MOT and replace the seals.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Today I had my annual checkover service and M.O.T at my local OPC which the car passed without any issues. Another benefit is that although the Warranty has a limit of £2500 per claim my service manager at the OPC has said that if the intermediate shaft seal or the rear main seal lets go in the next two years they will give me a nice new engine under warranty. Now for the best bit and I wonder how many OPC would do this. After dropping my car off and talking through the jobs on the car I said to the service manager that as they were doing the RMS etc as the car has done nearly 100.000 miles on its original clutch if it needs replacing that go ahead. He rang me later in the day and said "the clutch has plenty of meat left on it so no need to replce it". Another good experience at Porsche OPC.

POST 2Original post

So now the work done by has been done by the OPC, they now cover the engine, so you have a Porsche 2 year engine warranty, good result

POST 3Original post

Read very carefully Now you've had the RMS and intermediate shaft seal done you have a 2 year warranty on the SEALS not the shafts if the seal goes then you'll have it replaced Most engines appear to go from the intermediate shaft snapping, not from the seals leaking so i'm afraid you havent gained 2 years free engine warranty
