Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have the single din Becker unit in my car.Even though it only gives directions with next turn arrows and audio voice ie no large colour map, but all the other features like ETA,distance, choice of route etc are there), its so much better than PCM1 or 2 for that matter and looks just like the standard porsche audio unit so is perfect visually. It also covers the whole of europe. Highly recommended.
Hi
Thanks a lot for these replies.
brown4g-
Thanks for advice. I think I've convinced myself that PCM's are not the route I want to take, even if I could.
Quite fancy the screen though...

Are you saying that the double din is to be avoided? Or indeed, can it be retro-fitted in to my car?
I do like the idea of the visual display. I've read some posts regarding Pioneer and Sony units. I think they involve moving the Air-Con module down to where the CD holder is located. It does look good.
Are they suitable do you know?
cheers

but I forgot about moving the heater controls...
It took about an hour to fit (we did it during lunchtime at work!) I had to get a couple of new bits from Porsche - new shaped cubby and new trim surround for the heater controls, moving the heater wiring down past the frame of the dash was tricky. We also had to do a bit of worrying trimming to the dash frame, leave as much of it in as you can because you need to use it for the double din cage to grab onto. We also trimmed the old heater surround to fill a gap between the double din and the air vents. The result looks pretty good and the ipod is filled up and tucked away behind the dash, charging itself from the Pioneer.
For those who didn't get the pm, I'm talking about the Pioneer AVIC F900BT!
