Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

The bottom edge of this indicator has cracked off. 1) Is this a Porsche Dealer Only part? 2) Any help on replacing would be appreciated. Thanks, MW

POST 2Original post

997.641.165.01 Can be had for about $50 new. Might be able to find it used on ebay or dismantler. Example: Air Bag Lamp - Porsche (997-641-165-01-A05) Note- I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same as a VW part similar to this one Cayenne Passenger Indicator used but I've no way of cross-referencing. If you pop yours out you might see a VW part number. But you might need to remove the console to get it out. Unless you've got a Porsche specific code reader, don't try starting the car with the switch disconnected - it will throw a code that won't go away until cleared by a diagnostic tool.
