Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

As the title says, when I pull right into my driveway or sharply right into a driveway I hear a single sharp "pop" that sounds like a spring adjusting or something. Does not do it when turning sharply left, only right on a slight up grade when the rear right is unloaded. Anybody got an idea what this could be. I hoping its not a shock mount loose or failed.

POST 2Original post

I would check sway bar related items. Especially the drop links. There are also two sway bar bushings but not likely a problem with those unless seriously worn or the bolts have come loose.

POST 3Original post

Check this as well... 981 - Loose diagonal strut bolts. Thoughts?

Wow thx, this could def be it. Its going in for service next month to troubleshoot a few OBDII codes on the O2 sensors. I'll have them check this out too.

POST 5Original post

I had this exact same noise on my 987.2 where it was on an incline right on the entry onto the driveway and when unloaded. It sounded like a loud pop in the rear as you described. The root cause was a much loosened and somewhat tired rear trailing arm that is oriented front to rear rather than left to right. Replacement fixed it right up. It is the long trailing arm you see in that video that is bright silver underneath that diagonal strut but making an X.

POST 6Original post

Thx for input, I got underneath yesterday afternoon to replace the transaxle cooling rubber air ducts and didn't see anything that jumped out at me. I think it should be fine to make the 2 hour trip to my nearest dealer later in the month.
