Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Would there be any problem going to 275/35/16 tires instead of the stock 265/35/18" If I did this, I would leave the stock 225/40/18 on the front. The reason I am considering this is because I found a deal on that size. I currently have one bad tire on the back. The 275 tires are the same brand and model.

POST 2Original post

I believe the factory size on the facelifted Carerra uses a 285/30/18. You "should" be okay running 265/35/18 pending your car is not lowered. I may be wrong. Hopefully someone with more experience can chime in.

POST 3Original post

16"?? Buy a new tire. Assuming you have a 996 Porsche 275-18 should be fine if you have a C2.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 8124951

Oops, lol should have been 18. They are the same tires, just 1cm wider. Yes, it is a C2. I had to replace one rear tire last year so it only has about 1/3 the wear of the bad one. The tires I have are $185 each and I can get a new pair of the 275s for $250. How much will the size difference affect the speedometer? It reads 4mph high right now.

POST 5Original post

you don't specify what brand of tire. Bridgestone RE-11 have a 0.3" difference in diameter between 265 & 275.

POST 6Original post

I run 265 in the rear on mine... as I found the tire I liked and it was an amazing deal. I have run it without issue for the past 2 years. All four came as a matched set (with corresponding smaller fronts). The biggest issue (aside from raw clearance of which you shouldn't be concerned) is the diameter. Try to get these as close as possible to not upset the ABS system.

POST 7Original post

On my C 4 I ran 285/30/18 225/40/18 and fit super well. had 265/35/18 before , prefer wider, and they are Contis.
