Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I have a 2002 Carrera 4 Convertible, and the CD changer has no power to it. I have removed it looking for the fuse that many threads suggests need changing. I can't see any fuse, where is it located. The changer is a CDC-3 unit. Any help wouild be much appreciated. :dont know:

POST 2Original post

when you say it has no power to it , do you mean it won't eject the cartridge and it doesn't work through head unit... if so at the back of the cdc 3 unit is a little black cover which is held on by small posidrive screws 2 i think , take this off and inside is a glass fuse, this has a habit of blowing..

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, yes you are right, the PCM does not think a CD changer is fitted, and the cartridge will not come out when ejected. I have removed the unit and taken off its mounting tray, and I can't find a black panel at the back. There is a panel on both sides which holds the rubber mounting blocks in place, but no sign of a fuse. Any suggestions?

POST 4Original post

sorry my mistake its cdc 4 that has the fuse.. it may be that changer has given up the ghost and may require new then, will have a think tonight .. i presume all the fuses have been checked in the driver footwell too... only other option may be a system reset, try pressing 148 together on pcm to reset..
