These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I got a 02 boxster. It's been leaking power steering fluid. I went underneath the car, the lines look quite clean, but the reservoir area is very oily messy. I suspect the o-ring that seal the upper reservoir to the lower is bad. Just want to know if it is possible to replace this oring without taking off the intake manifold??? Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

Yes it is. I recently did it on my 05 S. -RobT Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

It is more likely the o-ring of the lower reservoir to the pump itself. PN 15 in the diagram. Much more time consuming, but can be done with most everything in the car, you have to be creative.

Where can I find directions to get to this o-ring?

POST 5Original post

Suggest download the porsche PET for the 986. It will have all the part numbers for every available part in it along with the diagrams like above.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
