Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have been looking into remaps for my TT, and asked about putting the car on a dyno, but got very differing reactions: Supplier 1: Would not entertain it, as their rolling road would not provide sufficient cooling air Supplier 2: OK to do it, but would need to disconnect drive to front wheels Supplier 3: Would do it, but didn't seem keen and cautioned about flooding the engine management system with error codes Supplier 4: Quite happy to do it, both before and after the remap All of the above are well known reputable suppliers. Any dyno experts out there who could shed any light on this?

POST 2Original post

Supplier 1's cooling must be crap then.... cooling is important and any turbo tuner with a dyno should ensure that can cool the car properly, big front fan, fans for the i/c's and rear fan for extraction, ideally. Supplier 2 must only have a 2wd dyno - you can disconnect the prop-shaft, but why bother, go to someone who has the correct tools in the first place (i.e. dyno) Supplier 3 - no idea what they are on about. Supplier 4 probably has a dyno dynamics chassis 4wd chassis dyno... so long as they have sufficient cooling you should be fine. If you want to drop me a PM about which suppliers you are considering I'm happy to give my views... I researched practically every tuner in the Uk before modding my turbo.
