Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyway, a good friend of mine has offered to replace the rear disks and pads on my 2000 TT but I need to know what exactly I need to get in order to make sure all the parts are there for him to fit, or is there a decent OEM kit available with all the parts included?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times before, but I did do a search. Anyway, a good friend of mine has offered to replace the rear disks and pads on my 2000 TT but I need to know what exactly I need to get in order to make sure all the parts are there for him to fit, or is there a decent OEM kit available with all the parts included? Thanks

For the rears, assuming you don't have PCCBs! 996.352.949.03 - Set of Pads - £139.96/set 996.612.365.00 - Wear Sensors - £11.83 each - 2 required 996.351.959.01 - Pins & Clips - £19.87/set Prices inc. VAT Or go to Euro Car Parts and get Textar pads, as they are exactly the same, and cheaper. You might not need the wear sensors - depends on how careful you are getting them out.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks - Any particular make of disk I should go for if I opt for Euro Parts?

POST 4Original post

Sorry, didn't read properly - missed the disks: 996.352.405.00 - Disk Left - £139.68 996.352.406.00 - Disk Right - £139.68 999.067.050.09 - Caliper Bolts - £3.84 each (4 required) Go for Sebro disks. Indistinguishable from Porsche ones.

POST 5Original post

I still can't get over how reasonably priced these brake parts are for the 996. My old lotus elise used to be much more expensive - crazy money.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your help - Just to be clear.......I need: Textar Brake Pads Sebro Disks Both from Euro car parts and from OPC Pins and Clips Wear sensors Caliper bolts

POST 7Original post

If you are getting them from an OPC, use the part numbers I quoted. Those are the list prices, but you might be able to negociate a discount - perhaps 10%. (That's what PCGB members get at many OPC's) You can look up the ECP prices at: http://www.eurocarparts.co.uk/ecp/p/Car-Parts . Just put in your car details and look up the prices for the Sebro disks and Textar pads. They do most, if not all, of the other parts too, and these will probably be genuine Porsche items.
