Suggestion

Every Cayman uses a different grade of oil, recommended by the technician that assembled the engine by hand and after running a drip down test to determine exactly which grade will flow 1 liter in 1 minute at 1 bar of pressure at 100 degrees C.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

HI As a new owner I would like to have some oil on hand if needed before the first oil change . What Grade of Mobile 1 do the cars come with from the factory . TIA Joe Parisi Salem Ma .:thanks:

POST 3Original post

Every Cayman uses a different grade of oil, recommended by the technician that assembled the engine by hand and after running a drip down test to determine exactly which grade will flow 1 liter in 1 minute at 1 bar of pressure at 100 degrees C. That's why they don't put the oil grade in the owners manual. OK, that was mean.... I'm just kidding..... I figured having a little fun would take the edge off of the barrage of people who are about to tell you to look in the manual. If you do, you'll find that Porsche recommends 0w-40 Mobil 1. Welcome to the ownership club.
