Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My questions are then can my Clockspring be fixed (reglued etc.) or will I need a new/used unit?
Leading evidence: 'Use unit' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use unit' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been trying to fix the non cancelling indicators and took the indicator unit apart and fixed the broken parts inside. Unfortunately after reassembly they still didn't cancel.
Yesterday I had to make some very large steering movements and I heard creaking from the steering wheel....it then refused to make the full movement.
I then took the steering wheel and discovered the following parts shown in the photos below.
My questions are then can my Clockspring be fixed (reglued etc.) or will I need a new/used unit?
If I need a new unit obviously I need the correct one for a Tiptronic because of the extra buttons, but are there Left Hand & Right Hand versions or are they just the same.
Final question if I put it back in roughly as is now will I be able to drive the car until replacement arrives?
I hadn't really thought that these might need to be centralised! Are those instructions written on the front of the casing?
Hopefully DeMort or Mister Corn will be along in a minute with advice.

They do need to be centralised or you run out of travel on full lock. I found this when swapping back to my 4 spoke from Momo 07 at last MOT.
Instructions printed on it I recall but i wound my an measured total rotations then put it back half way so the arrows lined up.
As already mentioned there is a way to refit it, I have damaged one many years ago until I followed the correct instructions. The instructions printed on the clock spring are not that good, you need to look in the workshop manual, it explains it better.
The metal tab is what normally locks it together when the wheel is removed .
The clock spring is a wound wire that coils up .. if it's not centralised then it will basically snap the wires inside and you will have an airbag light on .
From memory its 2 or 2.5 turns each way so 2 turns left then back would centralise it ... you do this very gently .
The White arrow should point at the cluster .
Workshop manual is here ..

Have a look at the green/red wire .. it looks damaged .
I read on another post about Clockspringa that they need calibration by a Porsche specialist.....is this true?
The part number I keep seeing the most for my Tiptronic is 996.652.213.00 but there's other variations and apparently Boxsters will also fit but I'm getting myself confused which part number to order.
Lastly does anyone have one going cheap
