In my search for an upgrade for my halogen headlights, I came across these LEDs ( OPT7 Fluxbeam LED Headlight Kit w/ Clear Arc-Beam Bulbs) . They've gotten good reviews and are recommended by many websites and other forums. If you're using them, please share your thoughts on their performance. Are you happy with them? Why? Are you disappointed? Why? Do they project down the road as good or better than the halogens? When my lightbulb needs a metal heatsink and a 7,000 RPM fan to keep itself from melting and I think about putting it inside a sealed pair of headlights worth $1,500... yeah, no. In general from what I've read, LED headlights don't project well. You can kind of see this by all the wall shots, where the spread is even everywhere including the sides, instead of two focused spots and then a fainter wide beam to the sides. This in my opinion means incoming traffic gets a much stronger glare than stock bulbs. Also I personally don't buy anything that doesn't get at least 75% of the reviews as 5-star, but eh. Well, minus drunk or impulse purchases.

Good points. But don't the halogen bulbs get just as hot?
