Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 1 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hey guys is there a way to use the CDR24 magazine plug to enable the AUX LINE IN? This plug seens to fit in the back of the CDR24 just fine: USB AUX in Audio charger Cable interface For Porsche Becker iPhone 5 6 s plus Thanks

POST 2Original post

Following this thread. I would also like to know. Because it looks like the perfect solution for iPhone music and charging. And the follow-up question: what if I don't have the multi-disc changer? Do I need to have the dealership activate the function? Thanks, Scott

POST 3Original post

I haven't seen this solution before but when I installed the Dension product I had to enable the cd changer since my Cayman didn't come with one. I had it done at my Indy shop.

POST 4Original post

I asked if they had instruction, but they do not. I'm tempted to try it anyway since it's so cheap

POST 5Original post

Following as well. Would be really cool if it worked (though doubtful only as it seems too easy) Please keep us posted should you try it. Thanks.

POST 6Original post

Cool! Keep us up to date, I would do it myself, but since i'm in Brazil will take ages to get the packet from China! Hope it work!

POST 7Original post

Okay, so curiosity got the best of me. I order the little adapter. I expect I will have to the multi-disc option activated. But if I can get that done at an indy shop like Fabianva, all the better. Adapter expected to arrive in two-four weeks. I'll keep you all posted. Cheers!

POST 8Original post

Update... Still waiting on the adapter from China. More research tells me it probably won't integrate with the Bose option because the cd changer is connected via the fiber optic loop. If you are a non- Bose CDR-23/24 or PCM 2/2.1, it might be a good solution. Side note... This may be a good option for those of you with the PCM 2/2.1 and Bose : M2.Media MOST | mObridge MoBridge now has a fiber optic interface that can be added into the loop and provides usb, lightning, 3.5mm and bluetooth (on the pro model), but it is apparently only compatible with the PCM stereos and lacks the programming the work with the CDRs. Even though the installation instructions list the CDRs, the MoBridge reps here in the US say it PCM only. It's $499 for the base model. I'm thinking I might buy a used PCM 2.1 just for that. Anyway, that's the news for now. Cheers!

POST 9Original post

Subscribing to see if this would work on my non- Bose CDR24

POST 10Original post

Not a bad ideia, another day on ebay there was a pcm 2.1 unit for about US 150, you should keep an eye on that. At.

POST 11Original post

Pretty confident it would as long as your non- Bose CDR-24 knows to look for the disc changer (dealer can program this). If the adapter doesn't work for me, I'll sell it to you cheap. I can definitely get it to you faster than ordering it from China (four weeks and counting so far).

POST 12Original post

eBay adapter from China has arrived. Now I just need to find the time to get behind the stereo. Still doubt it will work with the Bose fiber but I'll pass it along to someone with a non- Bose CDR-24 after to see if we have partial solution.

POST 13Original post

I think this might be my Plan B. AM/FM, Bluetooth (for calls and music), USB and AUX-in... 630UASB - Boss Audio Systems or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DZ56MX0?psc=1 Yes, I know they're not going to sound great, but making a great car audio system is not my goal. I don't even really listen to much music when I'm driving the Boxster. And if I'm road tripping then I'm driving X3 anyway (which does everything I want). Added benefit? I can pull the entire Bose stereo, amp, sub and speakers. One step closer to making a light-weight Boxster.

POST 14Original post

Well, as expected, the Chinese CDR-24 adapter is a no-go for the Bose . My head unit was completely oblivious to the plug -in adapter. Anyway, if you have a non- Bose CDR-24, pm me and I'Il send it to you to try. It looks reasonably well made so I hope it's useful for someone. Cheers!

POST 15Original post

Justaddcoffee, thanks for the replly, hope a non bose guy can give a good use for this.

POST 16Original post

Okay, found another maybe option... https://incartec.co.uk/Pages/Product.aspx?P=2686 This is basically a pair of RCA connectors into a digital converter that slips into the fiber optic loop. It has an On/Off switch so I guess it just overrides some of the data going to the Bose amp (tone, balance, fader, etc... remain under head unit control). It about $250 from the UK. Set up looks pretty easy. I'll think about this one, maybe present to myself for after Christmas. They also have a head unit replacement (MOST HUR) kit for 997/987, but it won't work with the CDR-24.

POST 17Original post

If you're going this route, my suggestion is to look at the Denison 500 Lite. That's what I have installed and it works great. I use my CD button to activate the input. Gateway 500 Lite

POST 18Original post

I was going that route, but when I talked to the rep, he said they were having problems with the lite and tried upselling me to the $500 model. I was a little put off by that.
