Hi all, was wondering if someone could help Does anyone know what bulbs are in the Cayman gen 1, non Xenon Started purchasing some whiter look bulbs, but getting confused as to what is what! Want to know: Full beam Dipped Sidelight Foglight Parking light Then am I correct in assuming the interior lights are W5W? I've done some searching and found various bits and pieces of info, but some of it seems to be conflicting - if this has been done somewhere else then by all means post me a link and lock this thread Thanks in advance, Chris

The parking lights (the small bulb in the bottom of the fog housing for a 987.1 was a H6W, despite anything the manual says. This was not a bulb I could find in any stores or american based auto retailer websites. Ended up having to be imported from the UK (powerbulbs). I found this a bit ridiculous. Granted it is possible the dealer could have had it in stock, but I doubt I would have saved any money over doing it myself...

Chris: If you select the "Articles" tab located at the top of each page, and then choose the Cayman cosmetic modifications, there you will find a six-part article detailing a complete makeover of the exterior bulbs on a Cayman 987.1 . Here is the first of the series: Exterior Light Makeover - Part 1 - Articles . I did many of the bulb upgrades, and am pleased with the results.

Wow! This is so confusing! Plethora of numbers, manufacturers, and color temperatures. And then there are flickering, radio interference, and code problems! YIKES! Is there one manufacturer and/or website who sell ALL the various xenon and LED lighting options for 987.1 Cayman / Boxster . I just want to go to one website and click what I need. Has anyone found a simple way to do this? All I want to replace are my halogen low beam headlights with either LED or Xenon, my clear corners with LED bulbs , and my fog/parking lights with LEDs . I'd like all the lighting to be as close to 4300-white as possible. I did visit the DIY lighting threads, which were extremely helpful for installation. But the bulb info was outdated. Can someone make this easy for me? I like the Philips Xenon kit, but I couldn't find any of the other bulbs on their website. Thank you for any wisdom, insight, direction, advice or information you can offer. Okay, I'll say it: Thanks for shedding some light on my confusion.
