Other than being power on/off related, I'm not sure what to check / look for.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a 2006 Boxster S with the CDR-24 radio and bose sound system. A few years ago I replaced the CDR-24 with an AVIC-Z150 nav unit. I used the Euromotorsport kit. Everything has been working great. A couple days ago I noticed when I either start the car or just power it on, the subwoofer behind the seats make a single "bump" sound. It doesn't matter if the head unit is on or off. It also makes the bump sound when I turn it off. Other than being power on/off related, I'm not sure what to check / look for. Has anyone experienced this before, or have any thoughts on what I should look for first? thanks, John

POST 2Original post

If it didn't used to happen, and just started - check your grounds. If everything is good there - it *might* be a failure in the power supply of your amp. But this is one of those gremlin chasing adventures... Do you have a separate amp, using the BOSE, or what is powering the sub? Do you also get the thump if you turn off / on the head unit... or only with the ignition switch?

POST 3Original post

Houston987, Thanks for the thoughts and my apology for being so tardy in replying. I was traveling for work all last week. I have the stock Bose amp/speaker system. It's definitely ignition switch related. I hear the bump sound when I turn the ignition switch both off and on. Turning the head unit off/on doesn't make the sound. Yeah, I agree this is going to turn into one of those gremlin chasing adventures.... thanks for the help! JOHN
