Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was finishing setting the height on my rear shocks today and when tightening up the lock ring I noticed the shock absorber turn a little on the mounting bush where it bolts to the bottom arm.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was finishing setting the height on my rear shocks today and when tightening up the lock ring I noticed the shock absorber turn a little on the mounting bush where it bolts to the bottom arm. Is this movement normal, no knocking etc just a bit of movement when applying force to lock the ring. I know this is a rubber bush so I'm hoping the movement is normal.

POST 2Original post

Yes, it's normal, provided it's a reasonably small amount of movement. My rear coilovers do the same.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Martin, yep just a little movement just didn't expect it but with it being rubber I should have.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Martin, do you have the external bump stops fitted on your rears, if so when the car is on the deck is it possible to have a look and see how much of a gap between the bump stop and the top of the shock.
