Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm half looking for a set of turbo 2 wheels, seems that hollows are the choice for turbo owners but was interested to read that the first models into early 2001 had the solid type wheels found on the C4S cars. The hollows are a fair bit lighter aiding acceleration but probably not noticeable for most of us and seeing mine is was registered on Jan 1st 2001 would have been delivered with solids.

POST 2Original post

Hey, I'm "half looking" to switch out my standard 996 turbo wheels! :thumb: My car is an April 2002 registered model, so hopefully should have the hollow wheels? How would I tell? How much would you be willing to offer for them if they are the hollow version? :?:

POST 3Original post

Look at, or feel, the back of the spokes. If they are flat then they are hollow. If they have cutouts they are not. MC

POST 4Original post

Great, thanks! :thumb: Looks and feels pretty flat to me!

POST 6Original post

That is the back - best pic I could get with the wheel on the car. They feel flat across the whole of the back of the spoke. :thumb:

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This shows perfectly the difference in the two wheels. Confusingly top is hollow type, grooved one is solid :thumb:

POST 10Original post

I've got a tidy set of solid spoke widebody Turbo twists sitting here if you want them. I'm in Coventry. I'll accept a reasonable offer

POST 11Original post

Thanks! Only bought it a week or so ago and it needed quite a bit of TLC. Still a few niggles to sort out, but it's going surprisingly well so far and the car is amazing to drive. :thumb: Not sure where all the criticism about them being one dimensional comes from? I had a 996 C2 3.4 for 6 years before this and it feels like I need to learn how to drive a Porsche all over again! 8) Maybe that's worth a thread in itself...
