Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi I have standard speakers and PCM in my Cayman S . I noticed that there are what looks like speaker covers near the rear boot, but no sound appears to come from them. Also there is no fade option in the PCM , which confirms that they are cosmetic. Does anyone know if these rear speakers, would have the cables in situ (a lot of car manufactuers use common wiring looms, so thread them up even if the speakers are not installed. I am not looking for an amazing sound system, but was thinking if I could get rears installed and maybe upgrade the speakers in the doors, the music might be a little clearer over the roar of the engine. Also, if I got rear speakers installed, would i be able to turn on the fade functionality in the PCM . If the above is feasable, does anyone know of somewhere in England (Cambs, Beds, Herts) that could do an installation for me. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

Seems like someone asked this before and our response was that they'd have to pull the plastic pieces in the rear hatch to check for sure because Porsche does have multiple wiring looms. I don't know if they ever checked or not.
