Ok,
I was unhappy that Porsche did not have a satalite radio option, so I set out to get Sirius back. This turned into $2,900.00 satalite radio
I added a Kenwood DNX7100 head unit, this has DVD, Ipod and Garmin Nav built in. I am not real thrilled with the deck, but it will do for now. I also added new Infiniti door and rear speakers. I added a Alpine amp to run a Pioneer slime line 10" sub.
Over all I am very happy with the sound of it now. I have all the functions and features I wanted. The one piece I am not happy with is the bezel around the stereo head unit. It is black and cheap looking, I hate it! I will be ordering the

I got two quotes for this stuff, one place was only going to do the stereo, amp and sub. That would of been around $4,200 without the navigation and new door/rear speakers. The second place I went to I got the stereo, amp, sub, ipod connection, door/rear speakers everything for $2,856.
Here are some pictures of the head unit, amp and sub.

Playing a music DVD, you can see the lame bezel around the stereo.
Alpine 500 watt mono amp
Pioneer slime line 10" sub with custom encloser. Actually sounds pretty good, enough to make my neighboors look at me like
Just thought I would share since there is a lot of talk about aftermark head units. April is performance mod month, I can't wait!!
Looks good; I love those shallow mount subs! Exactly the speaker choices I would've used if I were to do it.
Which Infiniti's did you add (series) and what sizes? Photos?
Looks nice! How do the Infiniti speakers sound? Did you go with seperates?
Love the sub installation. Looks great
Looks like you might have found the solution to the one weakness the Cayman posses
I think the system sounds 100 times better than the stock system did. The infiniti speaks sound very crisp compared, they weren't the best ones they fell mid range. Actually the rear speakers are Alpines I guess, I just grabbed all the boxes. So the break down of components are.
Kenwood DNX7100, Ipod connection, USB connection and soon Bluetooth

Plus all the wires and kits etc, install costs and tax...

The guy gave me a great deal I was very pleased with the service. Again I think the bezel around the stereo has got to go! But that will come in time, im itching for an exhaust now.
Thanks for the kinds words and thank you Dan for helping me get started in the right direction.
How do you like the kenwood? I looked at one to install in my sons car but they had just come out and there was no info. I went with eclipse - it is ok but nothing extraordinary. People sometimes bash the infinity speakers but I had the same set in a truck and they sounded great. I put a set of the kappas in another truck and they sounded poor. Most of the sound quality is in the install not the speaker. The sub looks great - I would love to see what the back of the enclosuer looks like...
Nice solution, did you have to re-cable the whole car?
I agree that was a damn good price you paid. I bet the installer clocked every bit of $15 an hour. Back when car audio was my profession, I would do labor of love for the lucky few sometimes. I'm sure he got pictures out of that deal too..
