I used the Escort remote kit which provided plenty of wire to locate the remote (alert light and mute button) down near the gear shift on the drivers side.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I just purchased an Escort 8500 x50 and was wondering if anyone knows of any bracket available to mount the detector someway other than the suction cups. Surely someone makes a bracket that adapts to the rear view mirror, right?

POST 2Original post

This one might work for you..try the mini mount because of the width. I think it should fit our mirror. I have to wait for them to come out with a valentine version. http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/ConnectorForRadarDetector.htm

POST 3Original post

Escort It can be rear mounted, on the structure just forward of the hatch and just inboard enough to clear the passenger seat. I used the Escort remote kit which provided plenty of wire to locate the remote (alert light and mute button) down near the gear shift on the drivers side. The detector itself is mounted using small ceramic magnets---two taped to the detector and two slipped under the headliner. The detector is set to all "dark" settings, so it's very discrete. I can take a few pictures this weekend if this mouting is of interest to you.

POST 4Original post

I'd like to see pictures. I'm trying to find a solution that is less obtrusive than suction cupping the radar to the wind shield. THanks!!

POST 6Original post

That is exactly what I was thinking of doing. I am awaiting delivery and hoping that it will connect to the Plug that is inside of the box that is between the drivers and passengers seats.

POST 7Original post

I made a similar one and it does connect to the socket in the in the consol and is works very well there. I don't use the GPS feature after the first recordings so it is nice place for it. Just have to remember to unplug it.

POST 8Original post

Is it just me or is that link missing all of its photos? Cannot tell much about the installation.
