Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone here running the K&N drop in filter in the stock airbox? Does it make any power, better breathing? Andy

POST 2Original post

I have one in my stock airbox. Didn't notice much difference, maybe a little sound and a little better breathing. As for power, not sure! I certainly don't think it hurt any.

POST 3Original post

I put one in mainly cause the previous owner didn't care to change it and I needed a replacement asap. I was unable to locate one (paper) in any local auto parts store. The counter person would look at me like I'd lost my mind trying to find a part for a Porsche. I bought a K&N so no more of those worries. I don't notice any difference at all...sound, hp etc.

POST 4Original post

i read in the MAG Luxury Exotic that the K&N CAi selling for $250 can add up to 12hp.......is that right? Sounds like a bunch of you know what....... but has anyone tried this? And the company that state it was Vivid Racing...... I know they're pretty reputable, but to state that....... can that be backed up by anyone on this forum? If so.... i'm getting it over the $600 V Flow.......

POST 5Original post

I have one as well, but don't notice any difference. It does somehow make me feel better (don't ask me why), so that's all it matters.

POST 7Original post

Sure...if you're really lucky some of the oil on their filters will cause your MAF to go bad and you'll face a MAF replacement at 300$. Stay away from K&N, rather buy a dry filter.
