Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 1 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

So I was still getting oil in my PCV after changing my AOS and would still get smokey cold starts. So I installed an oil catch can after the new AOS . After roughly 1500 miles, I found some oil in the can. Im also reading about -19Hg (gauge is off by +2) at cold idle, dont know what the specs are but im guessing that sounds about right for a 3.4L engine. Let me know what you think.

POST 2Original post

Hey that is some nice work! Would like to see more details of your installation and where you found that catch can.

POST 4Original post

It was simple process. All I did was plug one of the two ports leaving the AOS , routed the other one to the catch can (you can see it go below the intake), and the routed it from the catch can to the intake. I reused the end clips and took them off the plastic OEM PCV hose (heated the ends a little) and replaced them with a 5/8 ID 1"OD dishwasher discharge hose. I bought the catch can off Ebay Red Oil Catch Can Tank Reservoir Breather Cylinder Aluminum Engine w/ Filter Kit
