I have checked the oil it seems fine but the gage seems to only go up to 3 or 4 bars, ( seemed fine the other day)

Hi Guys, hope you can help, Im getting pretty worried now!!! I have a 2004 C4S and it has been an amazing car, 44000 miles, 14000 by me in the last two years. Earlier today I was driving home in traffic when my car started to shuudder and I felt it was going to cut out, I drove it home and parked it up, just started it now and there is a very strange knocking noise from it, it seems pretty ill. I have checked the oil it seems fine but the gage seems to only go up to 3 or 4 bars, ( seemed fine the other day) HELP

I did try to reply last night on the ruddy Nokia N96.... wrote loads (took ages) then pressed send and it refreshed the screen and lost the message :frustrated: Anyway, first off, avoid starting it again until you have a technician close by for his opinion. Few Q's: Where are you in the UK (you may be near someone from here who knows a thing or two) Is the noise in your opinion a rattle (cam gear) or heavy knock (IMS or crank) My first guess (hope) is a totally shot pencil coil Lloyd
