I don't know the Sparco seat, but on my GT3 seat I ran the seatbelt through the top (shoulder) hole, but not through the bottom (hip) hole.

Or did I trigger something when I didn't have the seatbelt wire connected and have to reset the light?

Or is it better to just run harnesses all the time on the street?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just finished installing my Sparco Pro2000 seat in my 99. Is it safe to run your stock seat belts through the holes? Or is it better to just run harnesses all the time on the street?
Could I trouble you for a quick run down on what parts you ordered to do the install? Thanks. I'm looking to pick up a Sparco Evo and swap it in and out for track days, but am utterly confused about all the mounting hardware.
Harnesses are not technically street legal, because they don't have a red quick-release pushbutton for use by emergency services.
I don't know the Sparco seat, but on my GT3 seat I ran the seatbelt through the top (shoulder) hole, but not through the bottom (hip) hole.
I have the left side ran through the hip hole but im having a hard time getting the right side through so I looped it over for todays commute.
I got the sparco bracket and sliders (make sure you remember to get hardware too, I forgot it and had to get it.) It was supposed to be bolt in, but I've never installed a seat before that was direct bolt in. I did a small amount of grinding on one of the holes, and bolted it right in. Took about an hour.
Got it all from DPS motorsports, they were able to get it all in stock same day.
Problem now is, Airbag light is on. I hooked up the wires to the stock seatbelt, and left the ones that go to the motor under the seat. Is this what is causing my airbag light to be on? Or did I trigger something when I didn't have the seatbelt wire connected and have to reset the light?
Can I reset the light somehow myself?
Other posters have said that if you leave the key in the ignition at any time while the seatbelt is disconected, it will trigger the airbag light. Apparently you'll need a dealer or other Pcar shop to rest the light. A few searches on GT3 seats and seatbelts should point you in the right direction.
Even Porsche can't seem to decide which holes the belt should go through, as various photos of European GT3s have had different belt routings.
