At this price buyers will get interested, and when they turn up to view the vehicle and offer you a price, I would be using the words "Go and find another black/black C4S for £23k"

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's black on black, with Sat Nav, it has done 97k miles but had a new engine put in 30k ago. Very good condition with Full service history (part specialist). Cheers in advance, I am considering a 996 turbo.

POST 2Original post

Hi, Dependant on condition, recent serviced items and factory options etc I would say 12-18K, market seems to be recovering slighty at the mo too. being realistic 30k engine swap is'nt actually that recent unfortunatley from a value point of view. it's all relative, early TT is good value, and eases the pain, good luck with the sale  Cheers brumbrum

POST 3Original post

A very quick search on Autotrader reveals the cheapest C4S at £24,500 - of course that doesn't mean that the car will sell at that price, but it's a ball park figure. Have a look on there and see how your car compares with colour/mileage/condition/spec etc. I can't honestly say I ever seen a C4S at £12k....... :dont know: Maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places.

POST 4Original post

Based on my recent search for a 911 I would say early £20k's. The C4S is quite sought after and rightly so. I was offered a 2003 with a dubious service history for £23k and the good one I saw was north of £25k so out of my budget at the time. Good luck looking for a TT, that's my plan for next year Cheers, Phil

POST 5Original post

I'm never selling mine then! FWIW, a friend of mine looked recently and i think 20-25 is realistic.

POST 6Original post

Having just purchased last month a 03 C4S I think you may be plesently surprised at what they are worth! I didn't see a C4S for less than £26k and anything with 30-50k miles was worth £30k plus. In speaking to a few specialists there is a demand for C4s's and prices are holding strongly. The colour & spec comb seem good I'd be amazed if you don't get £22-25k

POST 7Original post

The mileage will put alot off and then a new engine, it will put quite a few off. It then depends how much you want rid, but i would make it the cheap and sell before it 100,000 miles

POST 8Original post

I agree with Skelts. Just purchased my black/black '03 from a dealer with 45,000 miles, specialist history, all the important options (apart from PSE - car booked in with Hayward + Scott for the PSE hack already ) for £29.5K. Lowest price I saw for black/black was £26K private with 60,000 on the clock. That car had sold quickly when I rang about it. Working on about 10% reduction of dealer prices for a private sale, and taking off £1K per 10,000 miles - something around the £22K/23K mark? Another alternative I like to use is get an online quote from www.webuyanycar.com and add 30% (yes their prices are that silly...)

POST 9Original post

The new engine will help the sale, but you need to remember the rest of the car has done near on 100k. The black/black will also help. I would mark the car up at £22,995 and not drop a penny. At this price buyers will get interested, and when they turn up to view the vehicle and offer you a price, I would be using the words "Go and find another black/black C4S for £23k" :thumb: Dan

POST 10Original post

Nice pitch there Dan, you should think about doing that for a living

POST 11Original post

I will give you 22k this weekend, do not listen 12-18k??? What a joke this car will fly away just put it up for sale and see.

POST 12Original post

A mate of mine just sold a 02 C4S, black on black, 92,000 miles, no PCM for £22,400 just last month. The car was advertised on Thursday and sold by Friday morning. Mr 12 - 18K is having a laugh or maybe he thinks your selling it without the engine!!!!

POST 14Original post

Very interesting, almost spot what i paid for mine, for the same car and age. Seal Grey with black. Mine was £500 less for 5k more miles. Mine has a aftermarket PSE but not sure which one. Interested what H&S is like when you get it.

POST 15Original post

Me thinks Brum Brums on the hunt for a C4S  12-18K might get you an 02 boxster with 100k on it. I think it might be worth while spending some time on autotrader website i've been watching myself and i would think maybe 21-24K. Just an opinion mate.
