Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Out here in CA I run without one but it is worth the risk because I am not usually on city streets but for about 20% of my Porsche driving.

Sorry, dude, but the law says you have to have a front plate (unless you're running a dealer plate), and the plate has to be the one issued by the Ministry.

I think I'd rather pay that every year than run a front plate.

Of course it does away with using the plate as a reflector for the cops...
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Gents, anyone have any ideas on installing a front plate without having it look like an afterthought? I'm not interested in the crappy braket with the holes drilled in the bumper, and I'm annoyed that cars like this resort to that. Front plates are mandatory here in Ontario, and I don't run one because they look so bad on the front of a nice car. I've just been prepared to pay the tickets.
Anyone done anything crafty that might help me stomach it?
Pics please?
just got a ticket for no front plate. Gladly payed the $50. Around these parts we are allowed to have V1's and the front plate makes it easier for Mr. Five-O to nail a Pcar. The insurance surcharge for even one speeding ticket in this state is way more than $50. They crucify bad drivers here in order to get the insurance companies to come back to the most expensive car insurance state in the U.S.
Ontario here, too. Sorry, dude, but the law says you have to have a front plate (unless you're running a dealer plate), and the plate has to be the one issued by the Ministry. You can't bend it, cut it, or make up your own. I've seen people get away with having the plate in their windshield, but I don't think that's a huge aesthetic improvement.
Hardly seems fair, considering they'll let boaters and snowmobilers put their own numbers on.
What I thought about doing is getting a good quality metal frame and having it painted body colour. That would minimize it visually a little. If I ever have to do any other paint work, I'll probably do that.
How about some sort of bracket that bolts to the underside of the front bumper or the underside of the center intake (depending on car of course). You still have the plate but the bolting might be out of sigth. I haven't look any closer to see if this would work or not.
Just a thought. Out here in CA I run without one but it is worth the risk because I am not usually on city streets but for about 20% of my Porsche driving.

Ok, well, screw it. The fines are $110 per occaision here. I think I'd rather pay that every year than run a front plate. It just seems so stupid to me. I was pulled over twice this summer and both times was able to talk my way out of it, so really, it hasn't cost me a nickel yet. It will though.
Thanks for your thoughts, guys. I appreciate it.

In LA it's usually the parking enforcement guys that nail you. $25/pop. I went the first two years of P-car ownership getting 1 ticket/year and then got 3 in October. Still, I'd rather pay that and not park as much at parking meters than "violate" my front end with a plate.
See if you like these. They screw into where the tow hook normally go. I bought one and like it since it is fast to put on or take off. No drilling required.

I put mine on a couple of hinges that are attached to the top of the center radiator cutout filler. Will try to post a picture. Doesn't require drilling anything with paint on it.
'Freddy' from the 993 forum mentioned doing this successfully in Brazil. If the decal is a direct copy of the actual plate, why would states have an issue with this? Of course it does away with using the plate as a reflector for the cops...
My plate resides safely in the trunk. No issues yet

There is a company that sells a nice stainless plate holder for 993s. If you turn it over you can screw it in with small spacers from the bottom into the black rub rail under your bumper. It sits nice and low and it tucks in very nicely under overhang and is very easy to remove for the track. Order some color matching bumper plugs while you are at it.
