Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Silly question, i have a new front badge for my C2 and looking at the badge i cannot see any screw threads on the 2 prongs, how does this fit? any advice on removing and replacing the old one Cheers Steve

POST 2Original post

The badge is fitted using two special nuts which are like self-tappers in reverse, and cut a thread on the prongs. The nuts have a sealant on the underside. The worst part of the job is getting the rubber gasket to fit around the badge, especially if it is cold. Dunk the gasket in a cup of near-boiling water to soften it up, and remove it immediately before you are ready to fit it. The nuts only need nipping up snugly. If you tighten them too much they just cut a groove around the prong. Nuts - 999.591.423.03 - £1.12 each Gasket - 7L5.853.611.B - £3.16 each

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Richard Can the nuts be used of the old badge, i did not get any nuts with the new one Cheers Steve

POST 4Original post

You can do. Just try to preserve as much of the sticky sealer as possible.
