Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You have decided to sell your beloved porker and a 911uk member is interested. You know the car has some faults do you- This poll is designed to gauge if my theorie of where is the best place to buy your next of first 911-996 :worship: This does not reflect any of my intentions at present nor in the future Regards, (HONEST) Adey Vote 1 cast.

POST 2Original post

The one option you haven't got is to sell at a price with faults listed. I wouldn't expect to be negotiated down on faults I had already factored in to price. 8)

POST 3Original post

Bit suprised. I would never sell a car with known faults and keep quiet about them??? Ask yourself whats the point, just making someones life a misery. Guess I better look harder at my next purchase now??? I look more at the seller than the car. Honest person equals honest car IMO

POST 4Original post

Either be up front, or invite him to pay for an independant inspection. Treat others as you would wish to be treated. In my experience, this philosophy creates good karma, and you will profit in the long term. You seem like a decent bloke, so I know you'll do the right thing :thumb:

POST 5Original post

Price the car as it is and tell the purchaser about what you belive to be wrong with the car. It doesn't matter as when an expert looks at it they will come up with a different list of stuff anyway.

POST 6Original post

If I turn up to see a car I hope it as described. If it is not as described I walk away. If I can spot faults then there are more.

POST 7Original post

Few people will want to buy a car with a list of faults. Get them fixed and price the car accordingly. A heap of recent receipts will do wonders for the saleability, and the prospective purchaser will have nothing to knock you for on price. Just my 2p's worth.

POST 8Original post

Not saying that you would do this, but bear in mind that if you put one over on another forum member, said forum member would be more than likely to post his experiences up here and on one or two other widely read forums. Personally speaking I like to treat people as I expect to be treated, so I'd either be upfront about problems or sort them first.

POST 9Original post

I am sorry but the fact that you need to ask and would sell by concealing faults makes you in my opinion a not very genuine person, I hope that I never have the misfortune to come across a seller such as you. I also note that you dont have many responses to your enquiry, I,ll bet that most of the people on this forum and fellow Porsche owners feel the same, in fact I hope that you dont find a buyer or should I say mug for your car. in fact I am surprised that there are poeple such as you on this site. Mike

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mr Brown You do not understand the reason for the poll Read the top again Theorie is or was that the best place to BUY your next 911 was on here due to expected poll results First vote cast was option 4 Perhaps I have not been clear I am not selling I do not have any one interested 911uk member or not The top thread is hyperthetical senario Your venting at the wrong man

POST 11Original post

This is a stupid poll and thread - what results are you seriously expecting. When you buy a car - from whereever it is - use your own common sense. If you want ultimate peace of mind, go to an OPC. Then go to an indie with a warranty, buy privately with an inspection and warranty, etc etc. YOu cant judge people as a whole from poll results - its hypothetical. Everyones an individual. If you look hard enough, youll find a nightmare from an OPC, and equally the most perfect trouble free car from a private seller not on here! Man, just use your common sense :frustrated:

POST 12Original post

I apologise to you but although I may have misconstrued your reasoning it seems a bit strange to me I personally would always be 100%upfront, I still find it strange for anyone to even consider such scenarios, surely honesty is the the only way everytime so why the poll. Sorry I misconstrued the reasoning and the fact that you are not selling at all. mike
