The sales agent has made me aware the engine was "resealed" around 27,000 miles under warranty.

Hey guys I need some advice. I am interested in this 02 C4s(see attached link). http://www.stlouiscarmuseum.com/stlc...late.asp?id=79 The sales agent has made me aware the engine was "resealed" around 27,000 miles under warranty. They have no records of any past mechanical work. I have run the CARFAX etc for more information on this but obviously it doesn't go into those details. Is it possible to find out from a local Porsche dealer with a VIN# what the mechanical history is???? Or will even PCNA be of any help???? I really like this car but I would like to know what exactly was done to it before buying. Any and all opinions, advice, jokes etc are welcome Thanks

yes. they don't "reseal" 996 engine. they simply replace them and if they did under warranty, pcan has records. your local p-car dealer can access that. in fact, your p-car dealer can access all warranty-repair info, but not main. records in other dealership. good luck
