Suggestion
In the present economic climate it seems comapanies are letting the less popular items run out before replacing their stock which will enevitably cause delays.
Leading evidence: 'Use couple of times, never had any problems at all' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace their stock' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. recently used D911 to fit a rear spoiler and have no complaints on the price I paid (much lower than they advertised on the website), quality of install or time taken to get the job done.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I ordered a replacement exhaust gasket last Weds and while the part itself was only £1.87 I had no choice but to pay £5.95 for delivery of this very heavy part and as yet I have still not received it.
Just wanted to know other people's experience of Design911.com as I am a bit pissed off with the service (or lack thereof).
I ordered a replacement exhaust gasket last Weds and while the part itself was only £1.87 I had no choice but to pay £5.95 for delivery of this very heavy part and as yet I have still not received it.
For £5.95 I would expect it to arrive the next day or within two days at the most and feel slightly ripped off.
I know it is only a few quid, but its irritating me as I need to sort the exhaust asap to stop waking up the neighbours when i leavce for work in the morning.
I haven't had personal experience but from what you have said it may not be their fault.
£5.95 sounds like it is registered post, get the reference and go to the Royal Snail track-n-trace to find out where it is or get D911 on the case.

It is on it's way apparently...
With shopping on the internet one generally expects that if you are paying a decent whack for delivery that it should be a bit quicker.
Had there been an option for "standard" delivery I would have chosen that and not been expecting any speed-based miracles. Just a bit irked that I was not given an option and then had to wait what I think is a bit too long.
For a £1.80 gasket they could have popped a 2nd class stamp on it, really.
My experience has been much the opposite. Design911 has been extremely helpful and fast, compared to Porscheshop. At every point of transaction, invoicing, shipping, providing tracking info, etc., Design911uk has prompted me without asking, by email, on numerous orders I have placed with them. All the info has been complete, and I usually have a great experience throughout the shopping experience. Porscheshop has been the opposite. I live in Asia and I had once paid them 500 Pounds for Air shipping for a bodykit and some other parts, and it took 3 months to get here. I had to call them every week, and more than a dozen emails in total to get any information about the shipment. It even seemed like I had to force them for information, they wouldn't reply emails and wouldn't volunteer any information. This was for an in order in the thousands, mind you. And they charged the full amount early on in the process. When the item arrived, the forwarder even asked me to pay Freight Collect, and wouldn't ship to my door. I called Porscheshop and they asked me to collect it from the port! In the end, I insisted and insisted and got them to arrange for door to door as they had agreed in the first place. That's what I paid for. But I had to firmly insist and keep calling them before anything could happen, they never bothered to contact me throughout the 3 months! What an experience.
When I finally got the bodykit, I found out it came straight from Taiwan instead of the UK. No wonder it took so long. They should have told me it would delay, but they never said a word in 3 months, even when I asked for info. What's worse, the other stuff that was suppose to come by Air courier from Porsche shop in the UK, wasn't even sent out of their office until AFTER the bodykit came from Taiwan close to 3 months after they charged my credit card.
I really don't understand why they treated me like this, for such an expensive order. They even sent me some wrong parts and they will not reply my emails about it.
I've never had a problem with Design911, though. I almost shop exclusively with them now. The Porscheshop experience really scared me. I almost thought I had paid a four figure sum and not get my stuff.
I've used Design911 a fair amount, had the odd problem at the start but I've found if you phone through your order you get it much much quicker. Doesn't help the OP though. I bought some stuff from a shop that sells Porsche parts (no name and shame) and had some quite major time delay issues :dont know:
I've had random experiences of both. Let me be clear, neither of them upset or annoyed me, both are just a bit random.
Phoned up and ordered some headlight bulbs from Design911. I wanted a pair, the guy on the phone agreed I wanted only 1 pair. I got two pairs. Really dont know whether I paid for 4 bulbs or 2.
Porscheshop seem to have stuff on the website that they dont have in stock and dont intend to ever stock. I wanted bushes for lower track control arms. Website says yes, phone them up and they dont stock them and dont intend to. I wanted single piece splitline rims. Website says yes, phone them up and they no longer stock them.
Ho hum. I'll live.
Wanted to spend 1.5k at design 911 and asked for 5% discount had to argue the toss so gave up. Have got a few bits from them no problem find them quite good but haggle hard as they willstick it on if they can!!! Also I would not let my 911 near the workshop, cant comment on the standard of work just the look!! as I have been there but I am a perfectionist and regurlarly see cars worth 3 times mine parked at tesco between old bangers!!! Some people eh, I guess they see them as just cars

I must admit the delivery charge of over a fiver for small parts takes the p**s a bit. I dont mind that if i'm paying allot for an expensive part but for just small things like gaskets key rings etc it should be £2-3 at most...
I have ordered from them once before and didnt find the stuff took that long to get to me.. I have phoned them before to ask a few questions about parts or what they think is best and I found that they sound like they dont really care! maybe they'll read this and wise up a bit..
Customers will always spread the bad new faster than the good...
My experience:
I've bought from Porsche shop online / via phone a few times, they have never returned calls etc so I tried Design911 instead, although alot further away from me, I just ring through speak with Martin who seems good gets technicall info, haggle on price, they will price match in most cases and give me the 5% 911uk discount no problem. Parts arrive on time & free postage so far on all my orders and they drop me a text for when to expect, so all in all very happy which is why I've re used.
Also worth saying I've had good experience with my Local OPC parts dept Porsche Chester (would'nt buy a car or use them for servicing though), Neil there seems helpfull and I can usually negoiate a good discount which can be cheaper than design911 / porscheshop
cheers

Hello,
This induction kit seems rather popular at the moment so perhaps they are out of stock ?
I've ordered from them a couple of times :
Order placed Sunday afternoon - arrived at work Tuesday morning
Order placed Wednesday afternoon - arrived at work Friday morning
I've also returned an item and the refund hit my account within a few days.
I've never tried to call them though........
D911
Slow and heavy shipping costs.Small items are out of the question.
Seems they stock little inventory and are handling fee only and charging their bit plus a Wack for pick n ship.
Model of a good buissness- no inventory good for them bad for us.
I would guess they are all the same!
Would be nice to hear D911's opinion.
In the present economic climate it seems comapanies are letting the less popular items run out before replacing their stock which will enevitably cause delays. Alas it would seem that it's always best to call before placing your order which kind of defeats the whole point of the internet :dont know:
