Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 4Original post

Launch control was not offered offered as a factory fit option. ~ Maxie

POST 5Original post

It is part of the Sport Chrono option on the new ones, but was not on any 996s (or is this post in the wrong area?).

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi No correct area The 996 and 997 all have a launch control function , it just needs activating. I just wondered if anyone was activating it , or if indeed Porsche offered it as a extra. Seems not on the latter. Cheers

POST 7Original post

Really on a 996, its something that i always thought was missing, how do i get it I also heard that was the reason the tip was slower to 60 than the manual, due to no launch control, were as the manual you can just dial in x000 rpm and drop the clutch..... :dont know:

POST 8Original post

+1 Launch control on a Tip tranny? Never heard of that! Is it really available?

POST 9Original post

I think you must be mistaken, as launch control has never been available as an option on the 996.

POST 10Original post

JBS James, so how does it get activated on the 996

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

HI So it looks like there is a demand for this What would people be willing to pay for this function ? I also know of other cool feature that i can enable  But more on that later ........ Perhaps i should post up a vid ??? All these functions are enabled in the ECM and can be activated on any other tuners files. The ECM needs to be read ,the hex data changed then the checksum corrected and then flashed back to the ECM. Cheers James

POST 13Original post
