Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But the V1 caught blips on his KA a mile back (backscatter), and I even though I had no idea where he was, by the time he revealed, it was the Honda he was interested in, not me...

I stay out of the left lane except for passing and use my Passprt 8500 all the time.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

nj state troopers are conducting an "aggressive driver" sweep this weekend. there are extra patrols on all major highways, so keep it down. I was stopped this morning on 287n just south of exit 52. luckily my brother is "on the job" as they say, and i escaped without any ticket. clocked at 92...oophs. the trooper was a nice guy, and had a great hiding spot. along this section of road there are high walls with an occasional opening. he was inside one of these openings and hit me with k band from the rear after i had passed. when my v-1 went to full strength rear in a spot where i know there are no stray signals i knew i was cooked. hitting cars from behind as they move away is a good technic for these guys because it greatly reduces other drivers further back down the road from picking up a signal as they clock cars ahead.
^ I always try to keep it at or below 75 in a 65 with my V1. Honestly doing 80 probably would get you nailed and wouldn't get you to the end point much quicker.
30 yr. native new yorker having traveled quite a bit in northern jersey and based on a recent trip back north - it's hard to believe that is possible.
55 MPH posted state-wide I think? I've come to recognize NJ one of the most hostile driving environments i've come across.
coming into the state from Allentown on 78 - i dont think there is a sign for "Welcome to NJ" but ,rather, a plethora of traffic notices, restrictions and fines..."slow your *** down or your going to jail."
In the carolinas, we at least get 70.
Fairfax, VA to NYC in 3h, 9m. I had to exercise some caution, what do you expect!
Got lost on the way back, though, and whilst driving around at one point. I went over the Verrazano bridge four times :/ $9 a pop? Geez.
They were out in full force, though. Thanks for the heads-up!
THe more I have autocrossed and had instruction the slower I seem to be driving. No more than 65 for the most part. I have lost a world of faith in the ability of others to react to me if I speed past and they fail to look in their mirrors before getting in my trajectory. If I see 'weavers' I turn it down a notch, if I see "chick in the SUV talking on the Cell phone". My favorite are drivers doing parallels causing the cars to bunch up behind them. The only thing worse is travelling local roads where the locals cops see a Pcar and start getting ideas about increasing municipal revenues.
More cars than people is not a good formula.
Generally I don't get into the passing lane unless I truly am in need of making up time. Otherwise I try and stay in left lane where I will notice a five-O once in a while but usually they are on the left where they can choose to go either north or south.
But I don't go anywhere without my V1!
If you want to talk about people who drive faster than they should you should do a bit of driving on the highways in the Miami metro area. I'm getting passed by Mini Vans and SUV's going 90. Scary...
All this talk about 65s and 70s. Normal speed here in SoCal is 80. After rush hour in the afternoon (night if you count fridays), its more like 85-90. If I go out with the wife and kid with the Acura, I turn it down a notch to 75 and get passed.
Speeds in NorCal are not far off the speeds there in SoCal, especially on the hardcore commute. For example, if I drive from Sac to the Bay Area out I-80 in the early morning weekday, I can easily do 90+ and not be the fastest guy on the road. Easy. You'd have to triple digit to pass sometimes!
On the other hand, my Lexus RX330 SUV handles really well at 90. You don't want to slalom obviously, but it is not scary at all cruising open roads. Very hard to tell the difference between 100 and 50 in the Lexus...
Was the NJ officer in the original posters note using Instant On? I recently passed a CHP hiding behind an overcrossing's large dirt berm. But the V1 caught blips on his KA a mile back (backscatter), and I even though I had no idea where he was, by the time he revealed, it was the Honda he was interested in, not me... I love my V1. Here in CA Ka band hits == CHP. I've never once falsed on Ka, so even with weak hits, it means business.
Glad to hear you got out of the ticket by having a brother on the job, but this points out that it isn't really about safety. They are out there for revenue and just fulfilling a beauracratic obligation. I spend a lot of time overseas in 3rd world countries like Thailand. I prefer their equal opportunity system where a simple bribe gets you off and you don't have to know someone or have a brother on the job. Of course a US cop would throw you in jail if you tried to bribe him, but then letting you off because you have a brother on the job is just another form of corruption.
I agree 100%, doing track events and autocrossing for years has made me drive pretty slow on the street. Don't trust the skill of other drivers.
If the speed limit is 55 mph, I go 65mph. if the limit is 65mph, I go 70 mph. I stay out of the left lane except for passing and use my Passprt 8500 all the time.
