Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect battery' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Also, once the roof fully closes and the red dash light goes out, quickly pull the fuse for the top and leave it out for a day - may reset the memory of the top.

Suggestion
I would use a tester and do a calibration run on the roof ..

Suggestion
this bypasses the handbrake and switch and the roof will run with no safety stops fully open and fully closed .

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Alex, I didn't notice any dash lights, the roof even went back up by itself as well, seems to have a mind of its own. When nothing happened could put up and down as normal . Had to disconnect battery to stop it.
Do you have a smart top ecu fitted?
Also, once the roof fully closes and the red dash light goes out, quickly pull the fuse for the top and leave it out for a day - may reset the memory of the top.
Letting the handbrake off when it shuts will instantly deactivate the roof op to then give you chance to remove the fuse.
Can i just confirm .. the roof opens , then closes then opens ad infinitum ?
Logically that's not possible !!
The control unit operates the roof , there are no relays .. even if the switch was stuck it wouldn,t cause this ..
There is only one way if i wanted this to happen could i cause it ..
I would use a tester and do a calibration run on the roof .. this bypasses the handbrake and switch and the roof will run with no safety stops fully open and fully closed .
I can only assume the control unit which is on the rear bulkhead and behind the hoop has got in a right state ..
For me .. i would have a tester on the car and see what that particular control unit could tell me ..
It's not something i've ever seen though .
I'm with Alex here but i would say disconnect the battery for a few hours and recheck .
I take it there where no issues connecting the new battery ??
