Handbook advises using jump leads from fusebox positive terminal, and a Fully charged spare battery is required. All carried out as advised---No result or noise of anything about to come alive.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Handbook advises using jump leads from fusebox positive terminal, and a Fully charged spare battery is required. All carried out as advised---No result or noise of anything about to come alive. WHY?.Thanks for any help.

POST 2Original post

What happens? Does the starter make any sounds? Motor turn over? Light light up? Auto or manual? Clutch depressed? Does the key turn? Measure voltage on the battery? How long has it sat before your first attempt to start it?

POST 3Original post

I thought the fusebox terminal was just for getting the bonnet open in order to jump to the battery itself? It certainly doesn't look big enough to carry a starting current and I wouldn't want to do it that way when it's so easy to connect straight to the battery.
